WINNER
Last week we were delighted for, and incredibly proud of, Emilie Brooker who received her awards for South East Regional winner and National runner up in Hastings.
We were also extremely proud of Sophia Reed and Chloe Upton who were runners up with their fantastic works.
A massive thank you must go to Ms Mitchell and Ms Sassi who have supported and celebrated students throughout this process.

YEAR 7
On Tuesday 17th June, Imberhorne hosted the first participation athletics for Year 7 students. We were joined by Oathall and Sackville and the spirit and community was on full display.
Students of all skill levels were welcomed and supported throughout the event, and they were given the opportunity to have a go at different events including Discus, Long Jump, High Jump, sprint races and hurdles.
While there were no formal awards, the real achievement was the enthusiastic, involvement and teamwork displayed by all.
Overall, the event was a great success, and we look forward to making this an annual tradition for our Year 7 students, continuing to inspire participation and promote and healthy, activity lifestyle for everyone.

YEAR 10
Well done to our Year 10 GCSE dance students who performed at the Federation Dance show at the Chequer Mead Theatre on Tuesday 17th June. They danced a lyrical contemporary piece that was choreographed by Mrs Brinkhurst and the students called ‘Never tear us apart’. It was a fantastic event celebrating Dance in the Federation Schools; the students danced beautifully and showcased their amazing talents. Well done to everyone involved.

YEAR 9
Congratulations to Maribelle LaCock from Year 9 who picked up a silver medal in the Junior Girls Javelin (500g) representing Mid Sussex at the weekend, she will now represent Sussex this coming weekend @ Schools Inter Counties - The Cunliffe Cup Sat 21st June 2025, K2, Crawley.

A LEVEL CHEMISTRY
Our Year 12 Chemistry A-Level class were invited to Sussex University for a chemistry experience day. They were treated to a lecture on Spectroscopy and then spent several hours in the laboratory making a new organic compound. They then listened to another interesting lecture on some of the research that was being carried out at the university.

YEAR 8 CELEBRATION EVENING
Well done to all our certificate award winners in Year 8

GIRLS CRICKET FESTIVAL AT ARUNDEL CASTLE
23 of our KS3 girls were invited to a day of fun, teamworking and cricket at Arundel castle. Some top class women’s cricket was on view as the British Army, Royal Navy & RAF battled it out on the pitch whilst the girls also got the chance to try problem solving tasks, fitness games and teamwork and leadership tasks. We were lucky enough to also have an inspirational talk from Captain Imy O’Brien, who skippered a rowing boat with a female only crew, across the Atlantic last year. The 3,000 mile journey was completed in just 46 days and her feat, plus the endeavours of the ladies on the pitch, made this a very inspirational and enjoyable celebration of women’s sport and achievement. A great time was had by all and a huge thanks needs to go to Mrs Wood who somehow managed to get all of us there, despite some last minute, logistical problems, we faced in the morning!
